Understanding School: Primary School (Elementary School)






Primary school (elementary school) is the most basic level of formal education in Indonesia. The elementary school was implemented within 6 years, ranging from class 1 to class 6. Grade 6 students are required to follow a national exam (nee Ebtanas) that affect graduation or whether students. Basic school graduates can continue their education into middle school (JUNIOR HIGH) or equal. Basic general school students aged 7-12 years. In Indonesia, every citizen aged 7-15 years, compulsory basic education follows 9-year elementary school, which is 6 years and the first three years of secondary school.



Primary school (elementary school) was organized by the Government and private. Management of primary school (elementary school) in Indonesia that had previously been under the Ministry of national education, it is now the responsibility of the local government district/city since the enactment of regional autonomy in 2001. While the National Education Department only serves as a regulator in the field of education standards.



Understanding School: Middle School (JUNIOR HIGH)



Middle School (JUNIOR HIGH) is the formal basic education level in Indonesia after completing his primary school education (SD) or equal. Middle School implemented within 3 years, ranging from grade 7 to grade 9. 9th grade students are required to attend the national exam that affects the student's graduation or not. Junior high school graduates can go on to the higher levels of education, i.e. education high school (HIGH SCHOOL) or vocational secondary school (SMK) or equal. Middle school students are generally aged 13-15 years.



Middle School (JUNIOR HIGH) includes compulsory education for every citizen aged 7-15 years in Indonesia. Nine-year compulsory education covers primary education, i.e. primary school (or equivalent) 6 years and junior high school (or the equivalent) 3 years.



Middle School (JUNIOR HIGH) organized by the Government and private. The management of the first secondary schools in Indonesia which had previously been under the Ministry of national education, it is now the responsibility of the local government district/city since the enactment of regional autonomy in 2001. While the National Education Department only serves as a regulator in the field of education standards. Structurally, the first State secondary school is implementing technical education service district/city.



In the school year 1994/1995 to 2003/2004, the school had been called first-level secondary school (JSS)



The Notion Of School: Secondary School (HIGH SCHOOL)



High school in formal education in Indonesia is the level of secondary education after finishing middle school (JUNIOR HIGH) or equal. High school was completed in a period of 3 years, i.e. starting grade 10 to grade 12. In the second year (grade 11), high school students, mandatory choose majors that exist, namely social, science, or language. At the end of the third year (grade 12), students are required to attend the national exam that affects the student's graduation or not. After graduation (graduate) high school education can move on to College. General high school students aged 16-18 years. High school does not include compulsory Government like a 6-year ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 3 years. Starting in 2005, in some areas in Indonesia, the high school has been included as a 12-year compulsory education program organized by the Government and private. Management of public High Schools in Indonesia which had previously been under the Ministry of national education, after the enactment of regional autonomy in 2001, is now the responsibility of the local government district/city.
